Slide Printers

A slide printer is a machine used to print labels onto microscope slides, which are thin glass or plastic sheets used to hold tissue samples for examination under a microscope. The labels typically include information such as the patient’s name, the type of tissue, and the date.

Slide printers are used in histology labs to ensure that tissue samples are properly labeled and tracked during processing and storage. This is important for maintaining accurate records and ensuring that the correct tissue samples are used for analysis and diagnosis.

Slide printers typically use thermal transfer or inkjet printing technology to apply the labels to the slides. Some models may also have the ability to print barcodes or other identifying information to help with sample tracking.

Microscope slides are used in conjunction with microtomes, which are machines that slice tissue samples into thin sections to be evaluated under a microscope.
